VISITORS usually find the welcome mat out for them right across Wigtownshire... but amid the Coronavirus crisis, there is huge concern about rural towns and villages having precious resources stretched by people using holiday homes and camper vans. And as Police Scotland's Chief Constable Iain Livingstone urged people to stay at home, this sign appeared in Portpatrick. The holiday weekend is seen as a key test of lockdown regulations. If people ignore the rules and gather or travel en masse, it's thought stricter regulations, as have been seen in Spain and Italy, will be implemented.
