Goodies for the goodies!

Willie Scobie with NHS staff

COLLECTIVE clapping on a Thursday evening to salute the front-line staff of the NHS has been a moving hallmark of the Coronavirus lockdown. It was given an extra-special twist at Stranraer's Galloway Community Hospital when not only did the pubic turn out to applaud but hampers of goodies were presented to staff. Councillor Willie Scobie told the Free Press: "It was a great turnout. "It was a gesture from the Fed-Up Cafe and Community Re-Use shop on behalf of the community who had made generous donations. "The hampers were filled with all sorts of goodies from sweets to tea and coffee and practical gifts such as hand sanitisers. "It was a lovely way to say thank you to NHS staff from the public."
