Prince's Trust students are congratulated

Prince Charles, Trust patron

PRINCE'S TRUST students at Dumfries and Galloway College have celebrated completing their course with a digital graduation. The ceremony was held online and featured videos of congratulations sent in from Principal Joanna Campbell, other members of the management team, and staff from across the South of Scotland college, which has campuses in both Stranraer and Dumfries. Team 37 completed the 12-week course, half of which was delivered digitally, on April 30 and held the graduation ceremony shortly thereafter. The team also produced a wellbeing guide designed to help promote good mental health during lockdown which includes links to useful resources and self-care tips. Dumfries and Galloway College, led by Principal Joanna Campbell, has prioritised digital delivery and online learning and teaching to make sure learning continues in the South of Scotland throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Online events, such as the Prince's Trust digital graduation, have been a key part of this process and will continue to feature as the college takes a key role in the area's recovery. Miss Campbell said: “Our Prince's Trust students have worked incredibly hard, especially under these challenging circumstances, and so it was a pleasure to wish them well at this ceremony. “They are a great example of how our college community has continued to work together throughout the pandemic and has used the technological savvy we have at our disposal to do so. “I wish our graduates all the very best for their futures and tell them that their college is very proud of them.”
