Rescue drama at Port William
PIRSAC in action
THIS was the dramatic moment police helped a man from the waters of Luce Bay this morning.
The incident began at 8am at Port William when police responded to a report of a man in the sea.
Coastguard were also involved and the crew of the Port William Inshore Rescue Service launched their lifeboat to assist.
Eyewitnesses told the Free Press then man was able to walk ashore.
PIRSAC, based at the Boathouse in the village, is an all-volunteer, independent service.
Founded in in 1978, they were award the prestigious Queen's Award for Voluntary service in 2019.
