Thieves target cars in Newton and Stranraer

THIEVES are out and about targeting cars, police warn. Officers at Stranraer advise that there have been a number of thefts from motor vehicles overnight on Thursday June 18 at Royal Avenue, Stranraer and Ewart Drive and Murray Place, both in Newton Stewart. On each occasion, high-value items were taken and police are currently investigating the circumstances. They say: "Police would like to ask members of the public to ensure that they do not leave valuable items within their vehicles overnight and to ensure that they are locked prior to leaving them unattended. "If anyone has witnessed any suspicious activity overnight in and around the locations mentioned over the course of thursday night, it is requested that they contact any officer at Stranraer CID."
