Lifeboat's double call-out
IT'S been a busy day for Stranraer inshore lifeboat which has attended two call-outs.
They launched at around 3pm after reports of an inflatable boat in trouble in Loch Ryan.
It tuned out to be a dive boat with a diver in the water and there was no need for intervention.
The RNLI say this was a false alarm with good intent.
The second call came at 5pm with a report of a person in distress off Ballantrae.
The Marine and Coastguard Agency told the Free Press: "HM Coastguard was alerted to report of a person in the water at 5pm today and requested launch of lifeboat and helicopter.
"However, the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed they had the casualty safe in their care and no further assistance was required from HM Coastguard."
The lifeboat team travelled north to Ballantrae via the A77.
