Cockle Shore's a splash hit
Loch Ryan off Stranraer last night
THE old joke about water skiing is that the big problem is angling the loch to create just the right slope...
No such issues last night on Loch Ryan where people were having a whale of a time on skis and with a big inflatable.
The scene was Stranraer's Cockle Shore, long a favoured spot for enjoying the water though in the past, tastes ran to more sedate swimming and diving.
The huge success of the Skiffies rowing championship last year has swung the focus on to Stranraer as a watersports centre of excellence.
With access to the sheltered waters of Loch Ryan just a stone's throw from the town centre, it is hoped a new tourism draw can be built up.
Looks like the town's already making a splash!
