Driver lucky to escape as van flips at notorious A75 junction

The overturned van

A DRIVER has had a lucky escape after another accident at a notorious junction on the A75. His van overturned on Friday between Stranraer and Castle Kennedy near the junction with the A751 road, which links the A75 with the A77. Both the A751's junctions with the A75 and the A77 at Innermessan are notorious as slow vehicles often emerge in front of faster traffic on the trunk roads. Campaigners say the junctions are another example of the unsuitability of the A75 and A77 for modern traffic levels as both service the ferries at Cairnryan.
