PORTPATRICK lifeboat has been involved in a complex rescue that involved the Coastguard and the Donaghadee lifeboat.
A vessel, understood to be a RIB from Northern Ireland, got into difficulties off the Mull of Galloway.
HM Coastguard told the Free Press: "We received a request for assistance yesterday (July 21) at around 5pm after a report of a vessel with engine failure with two people on board off the Mull of Galloway.
"Drummore Coastguard Rescue Team was sent, along with an RNLI lifeboat from Portpatrick, which established a tow towards Donaghadee.
"An RNLI lifeboat from Donaghadee subsequently took over the tow and secured the vessel in Bangor marina."
