WERE you on the A75 around mid-day on Wednesday in the Creetown area? You might be able to help the police. They say: "About 11.50am on Wednesday 29 July, a one-vehicle road-traffic collision occurred on the A75 at its eastern junction into Creetown. "An eastbound red-coloured Ford Fiesta left the road to the nearside and struck a sign and a tree before coming to a halt. "The driver was uninjured but the front seat passenger sustained minor injuries. The police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this collision or who may have noted the presence of a gold-coloured people carrier that has possibly been present at the time the collision occurred." Meanwhile on Thursday, Stranraer police received a report of a gas leak Caledonia Court in the town. "Officers attended and a strong smell of gas was detected coming from the premises. The neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution and a gas engineer made the property safe. No persons were injured as a result of this incident." About 2.20am on Monday 3rd August, Stranraer police received a report of a disturbance taking place at a house in Ashwood Drive, Stranraer. "A number of persons have since appeared from custody in relation to the matter however, the police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident." On Monday this week, Stranraer Police received a report of vandalism to a silver Volkswagon Golf that had been parked in Fairhurst Road, Stranraer near to its junction with Mount Vernon Road. The attack on the vehicle occurred between 19.30 and 23.30. And a seven-year-old Jack Russell Terrier called Chloe was reported missing at Stranraer Police Station on Tuesday morning. Chloe was last seen by her owner at 2200 hrs the previous night and is brown and white in colour.
