Back to school: Council names the day
SCHOOLS across the south-west will reopen on Wednesday, August 12.
A letter went out to parents today from Dumfries and Galloway Council confirming reopening and giving detail about enhanced cleaning of classrooms and equipment, and about additional hygiene arrangements for pupils.
The letter confirms too that pupils are not required to observe social-distance regulations when outside, to wear masks.
"All our teachers and other staff within all our schools are looking forward to welcoming all our young people back. It has been a long time and we are looking forward to getting back into classrooms and learning again," says the council.
Additional buses have been added to cope with distancing requirements on transport. Stranraer Academy will have two extra buses.
