Lifeboat brings injured fisherman to safety

ORTPATRICK lifeboat came to the aid of an injured fisherman on Tuesday evening. The RNLI say: "Lifeboat was paged at 17.52 to reports of an injured crew member onboard a fishing vessel in the vicinity of Corsewall Lighthouse. 'The vessel was quickly located approximately six miles west of Corsewell Point. "The casualty was transferred to the lifeboat and first aid was administered whilst en route back to Portpatrick. "On arrival, the crew were met by the Coastguard and on-call doctor. The casualty was checked over by our doctor until an ambulance arrived. "The casualty was then released into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service. "Lifeboat was washed down, disinfected and ready for service again for 19.45."
