Eyes on the skies as Britain marks VJ Day 75
The Red Arrows
KEEP your eyes on the skies tomorrow afternoon...
As part of the commemorations for VJ Day, the Red Arrows are staging a round-Britain flypast and are expected over Wigtownshire at around 1.50pm as they head from a refuelling stop at Prestwick airport to Northern Ireland.
High visibility is the name of the game for the official Royal Air Force display team and it is hoped their Hawk T1A jets will be visible from Stranraer and along the western fringes of the the Rhins, including Portpatrick.
The event is part of the 75th anniversary of Victory over Japan, when the forces of Imperial Japan surrendered, finally ending World War Two.
