A VIGIL staged in Wigtown to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War has raised cash for a good cause.
Gail and John Jennings mounted the vigil on Saturday at 11am, commemorating both the final surrender of Imperial Japan's forces and the conclusion of the 1939-1945 war.
They played the Last Post, reveille and Forties recordings through the radio of their 1948 Rover car.
The pair thanked the public for their support and for generous donations to the RNLI.
